Smoked Paprika Hummus

Serves: 2- 4  •  DIFFICULTY: Easy 
PREPARATION Time: 15 minutes 
COOKING Time:  No Cooking! 


500 grams chickpeas (boiled and drained)

4 tablespoons virgin olive oil

1 lemon, juiced

2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

3 tablespoons tahini

sea salt, season to taste

1 teaspoon Mahbir Smoked Paprika Powder


  1. Except for the smoked paprika powder, blend all of the ingredients together in a food processor until you achieve a creamy and smooth texture.
  2. If the mixture looks too thick, add a few drops of water and continue in the food processer until the mixture is a smooth, spoonable paste.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle over with olive oil, and a light dusting of smoked paprika powder on top.
  4. Serve with carrot sticks and warm pitta bread.

Mahbir’s Personal Touch

If you’ve got the time, it’s always a nicer touch to boil your own chickpeas. In the hummus, it will give a more rounded earthy taste profile.
